Talent search and concert

This year Star Publication (Malaysia) Berhad with collaboration with all the colleges in Penang will be organizing a youth event “Galaxie & Youth Carnival @ Penang Times Square” on July 11^th and 12^th at Penang Times Square. Among the events are 3-on-3 Basketball, Photo Competition, Spin & Win Contest, Eating Competition, Foosball Challenge, 5-A Side Soccer, Arm wrestling, Street Dance Competition, Grand Spin for Spin & Win Contest and the last Talent Search & Concert.

Student Council KDU Penang will be collaborated with Star Publication to organize Talent Search & Concert. The details of the Talent Search & Concert as below:

Preliminary Round

Date: 4^th July 2009 (Saturday)

Time: 10.00am

Venue: KDU Foyer

Final Round

Date: 11^th July 2009 (Saturday)

Time: 8.00pm

Venue: Penang Times Square.

Towards effective communication workshop 1

Intend to improve your communication skills ?

KDU counselor will be conducting a series of workshop from July-December 2009. It aims to provide participants with the opportunity to develop the basic understanding of the pattern of communication and barriers of communication.

It also aims to introduce the participants to skills in asking questions and listening actively.

The first workshop will be held on the 3rd of July 2009 from 2pm until 3pm at Room 101. Seats are limited to 18 only. For those who are interested, please register yourself at SSD by the 1st of July 2009.

Penang Postcard Competition 2009

Dear All,

The Penang Postcard Competition 2009 is jointly organized by Penang State Tourism Development and Culture and KDU College, Penang. The press launch was held at KDU College, Penang on 9 June.

The competition is open to all Malaysian citizens and foreigners. There are 2 categories – students category and open category. The students category includes students from primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and universities. The open category is for adults.

CAPS Beach Bash

On the 5th of June 2009, CAPS (Creative Arts and Performing Society) of KDU Penang turned their long-awaited Beach Bash into a night of livid performances and a moment worth treasuring.
Days before the event, CAPS members as well as committees can be seen busy decorating the foyer with creative beach-themed decorations. Their labours were well paid-off as a satisfying amount of students and friend's invitations turned up to be a part of this exciting event.

The event was welcomed with huge cheers and rounds of laughters as people flooded the place even before the starting of the event. There were numerous programs which included live band performances, a variety of dances and magical performances. There were also side stalls offering interesting products such as body art painting and specially-made drinks.

The CAPS of KDU Penang has certainly lived up to its reputation as its society's title suggests by injecting a flow of creativity and excitement into student's college life. The success of this event augurs well for the much more activities that will be taking place in KDU Penang.

Blood Donation Campaign

A familiar face in dealing with health-relevant activities, the Health Club of KDU Penang has organized another blood donation campaign, this time on the 28th of May 2009. The blood donation campaign was held in association with the General Hospital in Penang.

The event proved to be a success as a total amount of 50 bags of blood were successfully collected. This inspiring event managed to attract the presence of students from different departments which include the pre-university department, nursing department and more.

One of the donor who is an A-level student, Robert Keay commented : "I'm happy to be able to make a least contribution to the society through this event. Inform me again when another campaign is coming ! "
